The Messiah Syndrome
Ioannina, early 1980s. The city is shaken by the brutal murders of three women, each crime more disturbing than the last.
Painter Angelos Alexakis, a man battling severe mental illness, lives between fractured perception and unsettling visions. When suspicion falls on him, his world collapses—he becomes both hunted and uncertain of his own reality.
Determined to prove his innocence, Angelos begins a desperate search for truth, guided only by his psychiatrist, Dr. Levy. But nothing around him is stable: a conflicted police detective, a mysterious medical student, an art collector, and a gallery owner all seem to hold pieces of a larger, darker puzzle.
As the investigation deepens, the line between reality and delusion dissolves. Art becomes evidence. Memory becomes manipulation. And truth becomes a moving target.
A gripping psychological thriller where madness and clarity mirror each other, and where love, guilt, and identity collide in a battle between good and evil.
From the author of the bestseller The Chess Player, comes a dark crime novel: three murdered women, one suspect who cannot trust his own mind, and a truth that may destroy everything.
