Sophia’s Wish
“Mommy, look! This doll is so beautiful! Can we buy her, please?” she begged.
Her mother smiled kindly and said, “My sweet Sophia, you already have dolls just like this one. I don’t think you really need another.”
Sophia’s cheeks turned red. She crossed her arms and refused to listen.
Going to the market was Sophia’s favorite thing in the world. Hand in hand with her mom, they would pick out all kinds of delicious treats — sweet-smelling fruits, tasty goodies, and every now and then, something special just for Sophia.
But then, Sophia stopped in her tracks. In the window of a little shop, she spotted the most beautiful doll she had ever seen. Her eyes grew wide with wonder.
“Mommy, look! This doll is so beautiful! Can we buy her, please?” she begged.

In a whisper, she said to herself, “I wish I lived in a place where I could have everything I wanted, and no one would ever say no.
“But does such a place really exist? And even if it did — would it truly make us happy?
A gentle story about the dangers of greed, the magic of gratitude, and the joy of giving.
And of course, about sharing with the ones we love — because without them, nothing ever feels quite the same!

| About the Author | Eri Deligianni was born and raised in Ptolemaida. She studied in the Department of Geology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Since then, she has worked as a freelance professional practicing her profession, as well as in private organizations. She is married and has two children. From a young age, she loved books — their smell, their texture. Creating stories and traveling alongside her characters was her favorite pastime. After bringing her children into the world, this habit became even more frequent and the best moments spent with them. Thus, she decided to put these stories down on paper. This is her first children's book, but she hopes many more will follow. |
