The Carrots Will Grow Again
A bilingual English–Greek story about friendship, change, and new beginnings.
Zili is a little rabbit who loves carrots. André is a cheerful squirrel who loves walnuts. Best friends, the two spend their days playing, talking, exploring, and sometimes even arguing — only to always find their way back to each other.
But when André suddenly moves away, Zili’s world feels empty.
Heartbroken and unable to understand the pain of goodbye, Zili does something unexpected: he pulls every carrot from the field, certain that nothing good can grow again.
Yet nature has its own quiet wisdom.
As the carrots slowly begin to grow back, Zili discovers an important truth about friendship, loss, and healing: endings can hurt, but they also make room for new beginnings — and new friends.
Warm, comforting, and beautifully relatable, The Carrots Will Grow Again is a heartfelt bilingual English–Greek story that gently helps young readers navigate small goodbyes, emotional resilience, and the hope that follows change.
Enhanced with a QR Code experience, this touching tale offers children and families an engaging way to explore language, emotions, and storytelling together.
Because even after sadness… the carrots grow again.

| About the Author | Zoe Bagioki grew up surrounded by the world of books — among writers, illustrators, printers, and bookbinders. Storytelling came naturally to her, and from an early age, she loved creating stories and sharing them with her friends. During elementary school, she felt the need to put her imagination onto paper. This led her to collaborate on two stories with her beloved kindergarten teacher, Katerina Tzavara: Does the Donkey Fly?, a book warmly embraced by children and reprinted in multiple editions, and Me for You. Later, she continued her literary journey with the books With Love in My Heart, I Write a Letter to Mom and the Christmas story Together in One Hug to Reach Higher. Her creative path flourished further through her collaboration with Marianna Katra. The Carrots Will Grow Again marks her first individual literary work. She hopes it will be loved just as much as her previous books — and that many more stories will grow in the future, just like carrots after the rain. |
